Having been born on September 9, 1810 in Salz, Bavaria, Germany, Catharina Schubert (age 34)
emmigrated to the United States of America with a son, arriving at the Baltimore, Maryland seaport in 1844.
Catharina's Son Casper Renounces Allegience to King of Bavaria.

To the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas of the county of York, [Pennsylvania] :
The Petition of Casper Krepps, a native of Bavaria respectfully sheweth, that: he is a free white person and an alien, and is desirous of becoming a citizen of the United Siates of America, and that he has made the declaration required by the Act of Congress, on that subject which is exhibited herewith–that he has resided within the United States, three years next preceding his arriving at the age of twenty-one years, and has continued to reside therein until the time of making this application-that including the aforesaid three years of his minority he has resided within the limits, and under the jurisdiction of the United States of America five years and upwards, etc.
*Therefare he prays your Honors that he may be admitted a citizen of the United States of America, etc.
[Casper Krepps' name was obviously then signed by an educated clerk with flawless cursive handwriting, and yet signed without the letter (s) on his last name and his first name often spelled differently, which was common then] Dated November 3, 1856.
Interestingly, in another portion of that same document, we find this type-written language:
"...the petitioner aforesaid appearing in open Court, and being daly sworn doth declare and say that the several facts set forth in the preceding are having him reject allegiance to Maximillian King of Bavaria, Potentate Maximillion King of Bavaria.
